What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll work closely with Sales Managers, customers, engineers, suppliers, and the shop floor to make sure projects run smoothly from initial enquiry through to delivery. Expect a fast-paced, varied role with hands-on involvement in technical decisions.
Your key responsibilities:
Customer & Account Ownership
Act as the first point of contact for your assigned customers
Manage ongoing enquiries, site visits, and relationship development
Create and manage contacts/customers within ERP/CRM
Generate pricing, compile quotations, and negotiate commercially
Support strategic customer plans to drive profitable growth
Technical & Project Engineering
Read, interpret, and respond to engineering specifications
Work with the factory to support RFQs and NPI activity
Liaise with engineers and shop floor teams to ensure correct manufacturing routes
Help select suppliers based on technical requirements
Contribute to procurement input for specialist materials or processes
Build deep technical knowledge of springs, presswork, materials, and production processes
Internal Leadership & Collaboration
Bring together the right expertise to progress complex technical projects
Ensure internal departments have clear, accurate customer requirements
Participate in sales meetings and trade exhibitions
Support pipeline development and work toward agreed KPIs.

Essential Requirements
HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Aerospace/other mechanical fields welcome)
Engineering mindset with strong problem-solving ability
Excellent communicator across all levels—from shop floor to directors
Comfortable managing multiple tasks and stakeholders
A proactive, “can-do” attitude and willingness to get stuck in
CAD (SolidWorks or ANSYS)
Highly Beneficial:
Exposure to manufacturing, metalwork, or precision engineering
Role Details
Hours 39, Mon–Thu: 08:00–17:00, Fri: 08:00–13:00
Salary: £30,000–£35,000+ (depending on experience; flexibility for the ideal candidate)
Annual Leave: 25 days + statutory holiday.

What You’ll Be Doing
As a key part of our engineering team, you’ll take ownership of CAD activity throughout new product introduction. You’ll use your technical skills to create, optimise and support real-world manufacturing solutions. Your responsibilities will include:
Creating accurate CAD models, drawings and geometry based on client requirements
Developing flat patterns and preparing data for manufacture
Reviewing and enhancing customer-supplied models to improve manufacturability
Programming and nesting for flatbed laser machines using CAD/CAM software
Interpreting engineering drawings and maintaining meticulous drawing control, including parts library revisions
Reverse engineering customer samples
Designing jigs and fixtures to improve shop-floor efficiency
Supporting trials from planning through to data presentation
Assisting sales with feasibility assessments
Updating project plans/APQP documentation to meet deliverables
Managing tooling and gauge purchasing in line with timings and costs
Quality-related elements such as ISIRs, FAIRs, PPAPs and wider HSE processes are desirable but not essential—perfect for someone looking to expand their experience.
What You’ll Bring

Strong CAD capability within a laser, fabrication or sheet-metal environment
Experience with TruTops, Ansys SpaceClaim or SolidWorks (essential)

Understanding of engineering materials and processes
Strong numerical and analytical ability
Familiarity with MRP systems
Confident using Microsoft Office
Methodical, structured approach to problem-solving
Positive, proactive attitude and strong communication skills
Detail-focused, self-motivated team player
Quality-engineering experience is advantageous but not required.

The Role
