We are hiring a Welder/Fabricator for the late shift:
Welding and fabricating sheet metal components and assemblies (MIG/TIG)
Reading and working from engineering drawings
Measuring, cutting, forming, and assembling sheet metal parts
Preparing materials for welding and finishing to high standards
Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised workshop environment
Supporting overall workshop production and teamwork
What We’re Looking For:
Proven experience as a Welder/Fabricator in sheet metal
Skilled in MIG and/or TIG welding techniques
Ability to fabricate from drawings with precision and attention to detail

The role
Based on the shop floor, the Quality Inspector will play a key role in ensuring products meet exacting standards before reaching customers. Your responsibilities will include:
Inspecting sheet metal fabrications, welded components and finished assemblies using manual inspection equipment
Completing first-off and final inspections
Creating and following inspection plans from engineering drawings
Reviewing internal and external non-conformances in collaboration with other departments
Producing clear, detailed inspection reports with findings and recommendations
Identifying potential quality issues and proactively suggesting corrective actions
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within quality control
Communicating inspection results effectively with production teams and engineers
What we’re looking for
To succeed in this role, you’ll ideally have:
Strong knowledge of inspection equipment
The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Previous experience in a sheet metal manufacturing environment
At least 3 years’ experience in quality control or a related role
Experience with Root Cause Analysis (e.g. Fishbone, 8D, 5 Whys)
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
Confident communication and interpersonal skills
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar software
A formal quality qualification, or a willingness to work towards one

This role is ideal for a technically minded estimator with strong CAD skills and hands-on experience within the sheet metal fabrication industry, who thrives on accuracy, cost control, and translating customer requirements into commercially viable quotations.
The Role
As an Estimating Design Engineer, your primary focus will be estimating and quotation preparation, supported by CAD design and technical evaluation. Key responsibilities include:
Preparing accurate and competitive quotations, costings, and material estimates for sheet metal components and fabrications
Reviewing customer drawings, specifications, and RFQs to assess manufacturability, material usage, and production methods
Producing and amending 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings to support quoting and production requirements
Creating BOMs, routings, and job data within the company ERP/MRP system
Liaising closely with sales, production, purchasing, and engineering teams to ensure quotations are technically sound and commercially viable
Applying strong knowledge of sheet metal processes including laser cutting, punching, folding, welding, fabrication, and finishing
Providing technical input to support value engineering, alternative materials, and cost-saving opportunities
